The San Francisco 49ers have secured stability at the kicking position, signing veteran kickerEddy Pieiroto afour-year contract extensionafter a standout 2025 season in The Bay.
Pieiro originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 2018 and has spent time with the Chicago Bears, New York Jets, Carolina Panthers, and 49ers over the course of his six-year career. Since arriving in San Francisco in 2025, the veteran kicker has delivered one of the most efficient seasons by a kicker in franchise history.
Here's a look back at some of the most notable stats and milestones from his career and his first season in The Bay:
- Pieiro has connected on 139 of 155 career field-goal attempts (89.7 percent), the second-highest field goal percentage in NFL history.
- In 2025, Pieiro converted 28 of 29 field-goal attempts (96.6 percent), leading the NFL in field-goal percentage.
- His 96.6 percent field-goal percentage in 2025 ranks as the second-highest single-season mark in 49ers franchise history.
- Pieiro opened the 2025 season by making his first 25 consecutive field goals, the most by a kicker to begin their first season with the 49ers.
- The veteran kicker connected on six field goals from 50-plus yards in 2025, including a career-long 59-yard field goal, which ranks as the second-longest in franchise history.
- Pieiro earned 2025 NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors in Week 5 after converting all four field goals (37, 20, 59 and 41 yards) and both extra-point attempts in a victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
- He was also named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October 2025 after going perfect on all kicks across four consecutive games.
- In the 2025 Wild Card win over the Philadelphia Eagles, Pieiro converted a 36-yard field goal, marking the first postseason field goal of his career.
- During the 2025 season, Pieiro also converted 34 of 38 extra-point attempts (89.5 percent).
- Over his career, Pieiro has made 150 of 163 extra points (92 percent) while appearing in 84 career games.
